Strong finish for Berwick
HAMILTON, Mass. ? The Berwick Academy field hockey team earned a pair of victories Saturday to win the "B Bracket" of the Eastern Independent League tournament at Pingree School.
The Bulldogs defeated Lexington Christian Academy, 2-0, and then beat Portsmouth Abbey, 3-2. Berwick finished its season at 7-9-1.
Tilly Burzynski and Anna Wright each scores goals against LCA.
Tatiana Bradley scored twice against Portsmouth Abbey, while Wright found the net once more.
Sarah Brodeur played goalie in both games for Berwick.
Berwick soccer earns win
SOUTH BERWICK, Maine ? The Berwick Academy boys soccer team cruised to a 3-0 win over Bancroft School to close out its regular season on Saturday.
Zack Flinkstrom opened the scoring by putting away the rebound of a Blake Downey shot for a 1-0 lead in the third minute.
Stephen Sherbahn assisted Downey on Berwick's second goal at 58:44, and Erik Wisniewski closed the scoring late in the second half with a goal assisted by Ryan Leonard.
Berwick closed the regular season at 11-6-2 (9-3-2, Eastern Independent League) while Bancroft finished at 3-14-1 (1-12-1, EIL)
Dylan McDonough stopped 13 of 16 shots for Bancroft, while Sam Salvati saved the only shot he saw for Berwick.
Kittery Rec offering C's trip
The Kittery Recreation Department is taking registrations for a trip to see the Boston Celtics play the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, Jan. 2 in Boston.
All registrations must be done at the Recreation Center at 120 Rogers Road.
The trip is open to anyone. Scheduled departure is 5 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. game. Cost is $72 per person, which includes transportation.
The deadline to purchase tickets is Dec. 3. A minimum number of tickets must be sold to run the trip.

B's alumni game on Dec. 15
EXETER ? The Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the Bruins Alumni/Seacoast Alumni All-Star Benefit Hockey Game on Saturday, Dec. 15 at The Rinks at Exeter. Last year the event attracted over 1,000 attendees who witnessed locals lace up and share the ice with Bruins legends. The event benefits the Chamber Children's Fund and the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce.
Many Bruins Alumni will be on hand for the 60-minute game, including Rick Middleton and Ken Linseman.

Traip Academy has coaching openings for the following positions: first team boys (freshman) basketball coach; junior varsity girls basketball coach.

Cheerleading coaches needed
Kittery Youth Cheerleading, a non-profit competitive cheer program is seeking experienced assistant coaches for the 2012-13 season. These are volunteer positions.
The season runs from November to April. Coaches are responsible for developing and directing practices, choreographing routines and preparing for competitions. Candidates must have experience with all-star competitive cheering and familiarity with larger cheer groups.
Interested candidates should send a letter of interest and resume to Kittery Recreation Department, Attn: Jeremy Paul, 200 Rogers Rd., Kittery, ME 03904. Coaching applications can also be found at the Recreation Department home page on the Town of Kittery website, www.kittery.org.
