Filming for the upcoming "Game of Thrones" season begins Thursday in Ireland, but according to a recent casting notice, the show is still working on hiring actors. Very specific actors. ?

According to the notice, the HBO show is seeking extras who were "leg only, male amputees."? According to fan site Westeros.org, Ireland-based extras casting company Extras NI put out the call, and asked that possible extras provide "description regarding where your limb is missing."

Additionally, it warns that the extras must be "OK and comfortable with filming a scene within the context of a battle where your leg has been injured. Prosthetic makeup will be applied as though your leg has newly been severed. We understand that this is not for everyone, so please only apply if you are happy to participate."

"Game of Thrones" has certainly never shied away from realism in its filming (head on a stick, anyone?) but which plot point might this recent casting notice point to? According to the Westeros blog, it's likely The Red Wedding, which includes a particularly bloody nighttime battle sequence.

The show returns March 31 on HBO.
